Jonny Peiffer ~ Cook

Wise Belly is all about using good, clean ingredients to make delicious food for everyday eating and special events alike.

 

I have been working in kitchens throughout the seacoast since my teenage years. I made ice-cream at Lago's Lone Oak for several summers while in high school. I baked bread (as well as granola and other sweets) at Me & Ollie's during some time off from studying music at UNH (where I eventually graduated). For a brief moment I worked with Michelle and Josh at Saucy Grace before they went and opened Street. I've been the cake-girl, overnight bread-girl, cookie-girl, sandwich-girl, counter-girl, lunch slave - almost every position there is at Cere's Bakery. And for nearly ten years I was the lead baker and sometimes bread manager at Beach Pea Baking Company. I loved all of these places, still do, and continue to count these former employers among my dear friends, even family. My time spent with them has been a huge part of my life.

 

For me, food is celebration. We have inherited a situation on Earth where we have the ability to enjoy all of the most taste-bud-dazzling flavors from all over the world. It is my opinion that food need not be just a routine thing we do. Each bite should be exceptional, no matter what your dietary restriction may be. Each bite should increase the 'Wow', 'Yum', and 'Yes' quotients in your life. And it is important that we share these moments with people that do the same.
